OPERATIONAL PARADE DEMONSTRATED THE READINESS OF NAVY PEOPLE

Lumut, 17 Dec – Operational Parade for Western Fleet Commander was held at KD PELANDOK Parade Square this morning. The parade is filled with naval tradition as it is the grand parade of the new fleet commander after he assumed the highest seat in the Western Fleet since Nov 15th.

This parade involves 48 Officers and 465 Other Ranks, wearing digital operational uniform, each carrying M4 Carbine and Glock 17 Pistol. The parade was led by Cdr Mohamad Zirwandy bin Zainuddin RMN while the band was conducted by Lt Mohd Shamram bin Ramli RMN. Some of the RMN assets were also displayed in the parade including the Provost Motorcycle, RHIB KD DUYONG and RHIB Digital for PASKAL, and camouflage 3 tons with 2 Missile Torpedo carriers.

The 23rd Western Fleet Commander, Rear Admiral Dato' Rusli bin Ramli was born on December 25, 1959 in Penang and has served nearly 41 years with the RMN. He has previously held important posts in RMN like Commander of Education and Training and Defense Attache in Rome, Italy.

During this parade, he took a salute and inspected the Navy People. Before ended, Navy People cries 'Gempur Wira' for three times to prove their high spirit in the parade. The ‘1st’ formation was also presented as a symbolic of way in encouraging citizens to be 'first' in all aspects align with the HQ Western Fleet motto, ‘Be The First’.
