


Vice Admiral Dato’ Ts. Shamsuddin bin Hj Ludin was appointed as the 24th Deputy Chief of Navy, Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) on 19 November 2024. Previously, he served as the 27th Western Fleet Commander from 18 October 2023 to 18 November 2024.
Hailing from Baling, Kedah, Vice Admiral Sam began his career in the RMN as a Sub Lieutenant in January 1989, following his training at the Royal Malaysia Naval College. Over the course of his remarkable 36-year military career, he has held a wide range of positions, spanning from tactical and operational roles to strategic leadership positions.
In operational roles, he has held several noteworthy positions at sea. He served as the Senior Squadron Officer of 26th MCMV during his tenure as the Commanding Officer of KD MAHAMIRU. Additionally, he held the role of Senior Squadron Officer of the 23rd Frigate while serving as the Commanding Officer of KD JEBAT.
Ashore, he has gained valuable experience in higher-level assignments. Notably, he served in Naval Planning Development at Naval HQ where he played a pivotal role in making significant contributions to the RMN Transformation Programme for the modernisation of the navy. He has also led the Maritime Segment of International Defence Exhibitions the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace (LIMA) and possesses extensive experience in participating in and managing multilateral engagements. Other notable assignment at the Tri-Service level was as the Director General of Defence Cyber and Electromagnetic Division. Vice Admiral Sam steered Malaysian Armed Forces former Communication and Electronic Division to the new relevant brand with its core business in a wider spectrum of cyber and Electromagnetic domains
In terms of his military and academic background, he earned a Master's degree in Management and Defence Studies from the University of Canberra, Australia. He also holds a Graduate Certificate in Maritime Studies from the University of Wollongong, Australia, and a Diploma in Human Resources Management from Open University Malaysia.
Additionally, he graduated from the Australian Command and Staff College and the U.S. Naval War College in Rhode Island. Military academic background includes training as a Maritime Principal Warfare Officer in the United Kingdom, Defence Resource Management at the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School, and participation in courses such as the Alumni of Strategic Courses at Cranfield University UK, the USA Combined Force Maritime Component Commander Course, and a Counter-Terrorism Course. He also completed a course on Armament and Defence Economy for the Asia- Pacific Region in collaboration with the French Institute for Higher Defence Studies.
In 2021, he was honoured as the Cyber Security Professional of the Year by Cyber Security Malaysia, acknowledging his remarkable contributions to cybersecurity initiatives. Additionally, he has been bestowed with the title of Adjunct Professor by the Malaysia MARA University of Technology and recognized as a Professional Technologist by the Malaysian Board of Technology.
Vice Admiral Sam is married to Datin Nor Balkhissham and blessed with three sons and one daughter.
VAdm. Dato’ Baharudin bin Wan Md Nor joined the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) as a Cadet Officer in July 1989. In his early days, he had served on various sea going and appointments ashore. His time at sea include stints as Navigator, Executive Officer and as Warfare Officer aboard Frigate. He is also among the pioneering group of RMN submariner, having started his initial training with Royal Australian Navy in 1995. When RMN decided to set up a Submarine Force in 2005; he was selected, qualified and subsequently appointed as Commanding Officer of RMN Scorpene Class submarine after taking it from built in France. Ashore he had served in various capacity at training establishment, Plans and Strategy, Operations, and in Human Resources. His senior leadership posts includes as Commander RMN Submarine Force, Chief Transformation Officer of the Navy where he was responsible for the formulation, planning, execution and overseeing transformation programme for the Royal Malaysian Navy, Naval Head of Human Resources, J7 in the Malaysian Armed Forces Joint Force HQ, Inspector General of the Navy and as Commander Naval Region 1 prior to taking up his current position in May 25.
VAdm. Dato’ Baharudin had completed various professional and leadership development courses throughout his career. Apart from maritime warfare and submarine specialization courses, he was a graduate of United States Naval War College, Rhode Island as well as the recipient of Captain Walter B. Woodson award in 2004. He was valedictorian of Malaysia’s National Resilience College Class 2021 and a fellow at National Defence University of Malaysia. He attended Senior Leadership Program at Naval Post Graduate School, Monterey, USA in 2024. VAdm. Dato’ Baharudin holds a Master Degree in National Security Administration. In 2018 he co-authored a book titled “Strategy Document for Royal Malaysian Navy 15to5 Transformation Program”. He specialized in Organizational Transformation and had been invited to speaks at various forums.
Throughout his career, he has been honoured with several awards, medals and decorations in recognition of his service. These includes Tokoh ANSARA 2013, numerous Excellence Service Awards, Darjah Setia Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, Darjah Pahlawan Angkatan Tentera, Darjah Setia Pangkuan Negeri and Panglima Setia Angkatan Tentera. In 2012, VAdm. Dato’ Baharudin was honored with Chevalier de I’Ordre National de la Legion d’Honneur, a French order of merit for military and civil deeds. VAdm. Dato’ Baharudin is a long-time member of Malaysian Nature Society, a non-profit organization that promotes protection and conservation of Malaysia’s natural heritage. He is happily married to Datin Shafiqah Ismail.

Rear Admiral Dato’ Pahlawan Abd Halim bin Hj Shaari was born on 28 July 1966 in Kuala Kangsar, Perak. He graduated from the RMN Naval College in 1987. He holds master’s degrees in Social science from National University of Malaysia and Strategy and Development Studies from the Bangladesh University of Professional.
At sea, Rear Admiral Dato’ Pahlawan Abd Halim served onboard KD JEBAT (FFH 23), KD LAKSAMANA HANG NADIM (FSG 24), KD LAKSAMANA MUHAMMAD AMIN (FSG 24). KD KASTURI (CORVET 25), KD MAHAWANGSA (MPCSS), KD PERKASA (FAC M) AND KLD TUNAS SAMUDERA. He commanded KD JEBAT and KD LAKSAMANA HANG NADIM in West Fleet, Lumut. Rear Admiral Dato’ Pahlawan Abd Halim also served as Senior Officer Afloat when he was the Commanding officer of KD JEBAT.
His staff assignment includes duty at the Inspector General ATM, West Fleet Commander HQ as Assistance Chief of Staff Future Operation and Readiness, Commanding Officer of KD PELANDOK - RMN Enlisted Training Institute, KD SULTAN IDRIS I - RMN Officers Naval college.
Rear Admiral Dato’ Pahlawan Abd Halim, is a Principle Warfare Officer specialist who had served as the Operations Officer onboard numerous ships in RMN Fleet. His nearly three decades of experience include tenures at sea, ashore at various Headquarters, operational and training establishments. His career has been enriched with his vast experience at sea, training and operational duty both within RMN and with International Navies. He is an alumnus of the National Defence College, Bangladesh, Malaysian Armed Forces Defence College, Malaysian Armed Forces Staff College, Kuala Lumpur and Defence Resource Management Institute, Monterey, California, USA. He has been deeply engaged with training, shaping future leadership of the RMN. Whilst being part of the Readiness Department at the RMN Fleet Headquarters, he sharpened the combat skills and navigation of ships of the RMN Fleet.
Rear Admiral Dato’ Pahlawan Abd Halim has been awarded the country and state Medals and Lahad Datu medal where he was the Commanding Officer of KD JEBAT during the Lahad Datu, Sabah conflict. Rear Admiral Dato’ Pahlawan Abd Halim is married to Datin Dr Liliwati binti Ismail. They are blessed with a son Hirzan Halimi bin Dato’ Pahlawan Abd Halim.

Rear Admiral Ahmad Shafirudin bin Abu Bakar TLDM was born on 10 Feb 1971 and joined the Royal Malaysian Navy in 1989 through the Navy Cadet Officer scheme and was commissioned as an Officer on 1 July 1991. Throughout his service, he was trusted to hold various important positions among them as Executive Officer of KD SRI NEGERI SEMBILAN 1993 to 1994, Staff Officer at the Naval Headquarters, Commanding Officer of KD LEKIR in 2012 to 2014 and Commander of Royal Malaysian Navy Airwing Headquaters in 2020.
In addition, he is also an experienced Operational Pilot and has been given the mandate to assume the duties of Flight Commander in the implementation of various flight missions. He is also a Qualified Helicopter Instructor responsible for guiding young RMN pilots. His career as a pilot has also given him the opportunity to serve with the Royal Malaysian Air Force and the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department Air Unit as an Operational Pilot. On completion of Malaysian Armed Forces Defense College Course in 2016, he was employed in the Development Planning Division Naval Headquarters from Jan 2016.
He was promoted to the rank of Rear Admiral on May 26, 2025 and currently serving as the Commander Naval Area 3 from Feb 10, 2025. In terms of academic qualifications, RADM Ahmad Shafirudin graduated from the University of Wollongong, Australia in the field of Master of Maritime Policy and Master of Social Science (Defense Studies) from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia and attended the Royal College of Defense Studies (RCDS) Course at Seaford House London, United Kingdom. He has also attended various career enhancement courses in line with service requirements.
RADM Ahmad Shafirudin bin Abu Bakar is married to Puan Hayati binti Osman and they are blessed with 3 children. His free time is filled with family activities such as traveling and his hobby is reading.
FAdm Kamalrulzaman bin Zainul Akhmar was born on 27 August 1971 in Perak. He joined the RMN in 1992 and was commissioned in the Executive Branch on 2 July 1994. As a seaman officer, he has served with various Laksamana Class Corvette and Fast Attack Crafts. FAdm Kamalrulzaman qualified as Operation Officer in 2000 upon completing the International Anti Submarine Warfare Course in Portsmouth United Kingdom. He later served as Surface Warfare Officer onboard KD LAKSAMANA MUHAMMAD AMIN and as Principal Warfare Officer onboard KD TUN ABDUL JAMIL.
FAdm Kamalrulzaman volunteered to be among the RMN pioneer submariners and commenced training in July 2005. As the Executive Officer (Reserved) of KD TUNKU ABDUL RAHMAN, he was directly responsible for, and participated in, the long journey from France to her home port in 2010. He took command of the same boat from 2014-2016 and completed his role in the Submarine Headquarters as Head of the Submarine Training Centre and Chief of Staff from 2019-2023.
FAdm Kamalrulzaman holds a Master in National Security Administration from National Defence Collage of Philippines in 2017.
On 28 February 2024, FAdm Kamalrulzaman was appointed as the seventh RMN Submarine Force Commander. FAdm Kamalrulzaman is married to Madam Masliza and blessed with three son.
First Admiral Dato' Hj Mohd Redzuan bin Haji Talib RMN was born on 28th Sep 1967 in Mambau Negeri Sembilan. He Joined the Navy on 1st Sep 1985 after completing his education at Mantin Secondary School. He assumed command as the 4th Commander of Naval Special Forces on 19th Feb 2020. Throughout his service, he has held a various number of appointments ashore as well as Commanding Officer of Unit 1 and Unit 2 PASKAL, Director of Joint Special Forces at Joint Force Head Quarters and his last appointment was a Chief of Staff Region 3 at Langkawi.
First Admiral Dato' Hj Mohd Redzuan has attended various professional and military courses throughout his career. This include Advanced Clearance Diving Course at HMS PENGUIN Australia and United Nations Peacekeeping Operations Contingent Commanders Course at Bangladesh. He is graduated of the Malaysia Armed Forces Defence College where he earned Master of Science in Defence and Strategic Studies.
He has a various experienced in serving other nations such as MINURSO Western Sahara and UNMIS Sudan as Military observer for United Nations peace keeping mission as well.
First Admiral Dato' Hj Redzuan is married with Datin Hajjah Hilda bt Mohd Nor and blessed with 4 children. He likes sports and during his free time, he likes to challenge himself for ultimate eco trails and playsquash.
First Admiral Azhar bin Adam was born in Batu Pahat, Johor on 24 May 1966. After completing his secondary education at the Royal Military College and studying marine engineering at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, he was commissioned into the Royal Malaysian Navy in 1988. Throughout his naval career, he has served at various ship and shore appointments besides attended numerous military and academic courses, while seeing the world. He assumed the current post in June 2024 after serving as Deputy Commander of Naval Education and Training for more than three years.
First Admiral Azhar is specialised in Under Water Warfare and was the first Anti Submarine Warfare Officer onboard KD LAKSAMANA HANG NADIM during her commissioning at La Spezia, Italy in 1997. His other ship assignments were onboard KD YU, KD KASTURI and KD LEKIR. Among his shore appointments were as the Flag Lieutenant to the Fleet Commander, Staff Officer (Under Water Warfare) and Staff Officer (Exercise Planning) at the Fleet Headquarters, Lumut, Staff Officer 1 Human Resource (Officer) andlater as the Director of Human Resource Development at RMN Headquarters and the Chief of Staff at the Naval Region 1 Command Headquarters, Kuantan. He has commanded three ships; KD LEMBING, based in Sandakan and KD PERAK and later KD PAHANG, homeported at Tg Gelang, Kuantan. In 2014, he was the Chief of Staff of the International Monitoring Team - Mindanao, the Philippines, contributing towards the progress of the peace process in this region. First Admiral Azhar is holding a unique record as the first officer who has been a Directing Staff at all three highest military institutions in the country - MAF StaffCollege (in 2006), MAF Defence College (2015) and National Resilience College (in 2019 asthe first Navy DS and a member of the course designing team).
First Admiral Azhar has attended Basic Submarine Course in Pakistan and later, Australia, Long Torpedo Anti-Submarine in Pakistan, Corvette Crew in Italy and Search andRescue with the US Coast Guard in the United States. As an avid reader, he is currently inquisitive on peace studies, strategic leadership, geopolitics vis-à-vis geography, astronomy, the Ottoman Empire and nation-building, among others. He loves travelling; in time and to places and has been to some of the world’s most majestic spots such as St. Moritz, Agra, Venice, Tawi Tawi, Bandaling, Pokhara, Giza, Luang Prabang, Oshino Hakkai, Rotorua, St. Petersburg and Williamsburg.
Born on 28th February 1967 at Seremban, Negeri Sembilan. First Admiral Ts. Shaiful joined the Royal Military Navy (RMN) on 10th September 1985. He was commissioned as Acting Sub-Lieutenant on 14th June 1988 and was promoted to First Admiral on 15th June 2019. On 4th January 2022, he became the fifth Commander of Western Fleet Logistics Command.
During his tenure, First Admiral Ts. First Admiral Zaharrudin bin Mohamed Yusop was born in Singapore in 1969. He started his career in Royal Malaysia Navy (RMN) as a Cadet Officer of the 3rd Intake Graduate Sheme and was commissioned on 23 June 1994 in the expertise of the Supply and Secretariat Branch. Until now, he has served in RMN the for 30 years.
Throughout his tenure, he has held various positions including supply, accounting, logistics and auditing. Among the positions he has held are Supply Officer KD HANG TUAH, Accounting Officer at the Ammunition and Explosives Depot of the RMN, Staff Officer 1 Audit at the Internal Audit and General Investigation Division and Staff Officer 2 Logistics at the Joint Force Headquarters. He currently serves as the Eastern Logistics Commander at the RMN Sepangar base, Sabah.
First Admiral Zaharrudin has always strived to build a brilliant career as a supply officer in the RMN, where he gave his dedication and professionalism throughout his duty. The role of a supply officer is essential to ensure preparedness for RMN operations by managing logistics, procurement, inventory, and financial resources, all of which are essential to effectively support marine operations and missions.
First Admiral Zaharrudin also attended various specialist courses in the field of logistics, military, management and higher education in the country and abroad. He had the opportunity to pursue his master's degree in one of the universities in Australia through the Malaysian Australian Joint Defense Program (MAJDP) and obtained a Master of Science in Logistics. He was also given the opportunity to undergo a course at the PLA National Defense University Beijing, China and obtain a Masters in Defense Studies in 2024.
Laksma Zaharrudin married Puan Nor Hayati Bte Abd Razak and was blessed with a son. Despite having to work in a unit that is far from his family, he still gives a high commitment in carrying out his duties so that every job carried out has a positive impact on the operational level of the RMN in maintaining the safety of the country's waters. At this time, he lives at the Teluk Sepangar Pangkalan TLDM Kota Kinabalu Sabah.
Throughout his service, he has held several appointments ashore and at sea as Joint Services such as Anti-Air Warfare Officer of KD LEKIU and KD JEBAT, Chief Warfare Officer of KD SELAGOR, Gunnery Training Officer in KD PELANDOK and as Staff Officer 1 of Internal Relations at RMN HQ, Commanding Officer of KD SRI KOTA KINABALU. His last appointment at sea was as the Commanding Officer of KD PERAK.
Captain Ahmad Sani has attended various professional and military courses throughout his career. These include Naval Head of Operation Department in Toulon, France in 2005/2006, Humanitarian Operations Seminar in Australia on 2017, Sulu Area Initiative Working Group in Philippines on 2018 as well as various other career and professional courses. He is graduate of the National University of Malaysia (UKM) where he earned his Master of Social Science (Strategic Studies).
Captain Ahmad Sani is also blessed with five stepchildren and is happily married to Mrs Dayang Melissa binti Abang HamdanRear Admiral Dato' Hanafiah bin Hassan was born in Kluang, Johor on 15th Feb 1967. He joined the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) on 16th Jan 1986 and was commissioned on 16th Jan 1988 as a Naval Officer in the Executive Branch with the rank of Acting Sub Lieutenant. He was inducted into the Naval Hydrographic Service on 16th Nov 1992 after completing the Basic Hydrographic Course at Japan Hydrographic Department, Tokyo. With his execellence service, he continue to rise in the hierarchy of RMN leadership. On 31st May 2018, he was appointted as the Director General of National Hydrographic Centre (NHC) with the rank of Rear Admiral.
Rear Admiral Dato' Hanafiah has held various appointment both at sea and ashore. His notable appointments are as Navigation Officer and Executive Officer of KD KELEWANG (Patrol Craft), Welfare Officer at Naval Region 1 Headquarters (HQ), Navigation Officer of KD MUTIARA (Survey ship), Staff Officer 3 Hydrography at RMN HQ, Hydrography and Oceanography Officer of KD PERANTAU (Survey ship), Commanding Officer of KD MUTIARA, Senior Director at the NHC and several other key positions. Through a exchange programme with Royal New Zealand Navy, Rear Admiral Dato' Hanafiah gained considerable hydrographic surveying experience on board HMNZS MONOWAI from 1995 to 1997.
Rear Admiral Dato' Hanafiah has attended several courses locally and abroad. He graduated with distinction in The Long Hydrographic Course from National Institute in Hydrography, India in 1997. He attended the Malaysian Command and Staff Course at The Malaysian Armed Forces Staff College in 2003 and obtained Diploma in Strategic and Defence Studies. He graduated from the Malaysian Armed Forces Defence College in 2010 with a Master of Arts in Defence Studies. In September 2016, Rear Admiral Dato' Hanafiah graduated from The National Defence University, Beijing China. On 25th Jan 2009, Rear Admiral Dato' Hanafiah was awarded the “Hydrographic H Charge” award by Chief of Navy for the highest Grade of Hydrographic Expertise.
As a Director General of NHC, Rear Admiral Dato' Hanafiah often represents Malaysia for meetings or seminars organized by the International Hydrographic Organisation and the East Asia Hydrographic Commission. He is also been appointted as the member of several Committees such as Technical Committee Working Group Joint Hydrographic Survey Malaysia and Singapore, Technical Committee Delimitation Malaysia and Indonesia, Working Committee for Marine Electronic Highway, The Hydrographic Surveyors Competency Evaluation Committee, Executive Committee of the Port Hydrographic Information Management and several other local an International Committees.
Rear Admiral Dato' Hanafiah was appointted as the Chairman of the Joint Task Team of Malaysia in search of Malaysia Airlines MH370 at the Joint Agency Coordination Centre, Canberra, Australia from 25th May 2014 to 1st November 2014. He was responsible in advising and determine the needs of the assets which were deployed for the search mission. In addition to that, he was an intermediary between Malaysia and Australia Technical High Level Task Force.
RAdm Mohd Dato’ Pahlawan Fadzli Kamal was born in the Royal Town of Kuala Kangsar, Perak on 4 March 1967. He completed his secondary education at Royal Military College, Sungai Besi in 1984 before joining the Royal Malaysian Navy on 1 September 1985.
Upon being commissioned in 1987, his first appointment was as the Correspondence Officer on board KD HANDALAN. He spent most of his career serving the RMN Fleet on board KD RAHMAT, KD MUSYTARI, KD LAKSAMANA TAN PUSMAH, KD JEBAT and twice on board KD KASTURI and KD LAKSAMANA MUHAMMAD AMIN. His last tour of duty with the RMN Fleet was as the Commanding Officer of KD LEKIU while discharging the duty as Senior Officer Afloat of the RMN Armada. Among other appointments held were as Gunnery Officer, Anti Air Warfare Officer, Principal Warfare Officer and the Executive Officer of the Strike Flotilla’s ships. Prior to his present appointment, he had held the job as the Director General Defence Cyber and Electromagnetic Malaysian Armed Forces, Inspector General at the RMN HQ, the Commandant of the Malaysian Armed Forces Defence College, Chief of Staff at RMN Readiness HQ, Chief of Staff at Naval Region 2 HQ and Commanding Officer of RMN Leadership Centre. He was also the former Head of R&D cum Executive Officer at RMN Maritime Tactical Centre, PUSTAKMAR and served various appointments ashore at the Naval Education and Training Centre, KD PELANDOK.
RAdm Dato’ Pahlawan Fadzli attended various courses locally and abroad such as Air Defence Course, Junior Officer Command Course, Training Methodology, Quality Control as well as Internal/Lead Auditor courses. He also had the opportunity to undergo several courses in the United States, the Principal Warfare Officer Specialisation Course at HMS DRYAD, United Kingdom and the first crew training for the Laksamana Class Corvette in Italy. He graduated from Australian Command and Staff College in 2003 and holds a Master of Management in Defence Studies from University of Canberra and a Graduate Certificate in Maritime Studies from University of Wollongong. He acquired his second Master degree in Social Science (Defence Studies) from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) while attending the MAF Defence College in 2010. Later, he obtained the Master of Science in National Resource Strategy from the Eisenhower School of the National Defence University, Washington DC. He had the opportunity being involved as participant and speaker at numerous international seminars and conferences.
RAdm Dato’ Pahlawan Fadzli used to be a keen sportsman, having represented the MAF and RMN in the game of hockey, rugby and basketball during his younger days. He had once holds the job as the Deputy Treasurer of the Malaysian National Cycling Federation, the Secretary of MAF and RMN Cycling Association and the Chairman of RMN Basketball Association. He enjoys gardening and outdoor activities.
He is happily married to Ms Shamsina binti Mohamed Salleh and blessed with four boys.
Rear Admiral Badarudin bin Taha was born in Bagan Datuk, Perak on December 28th, 1967. He joined the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) on the 4th July 1988 and was commissioned on 30th June 1990.
Since then, he has held a wide range of appointments at sea and ashore either in the navy or in the joint services. Among the notable appointments are the SO1 Strategy, SO1 Plans, Director of Human Resources (Policy) and Senior Director for Human Resources at the RMN Headquarters, Ministry of Defence. While at joint services, he had the opportunity to serve as the Head of Management, Malaysian Armed Forces Staff College (MAFSC). He was also proud to become the core member for the establishment of the Malaysian Institute of Defence and Security (MIDAS), the think tank for the Ministry of Defence in 2010 and subsequently assuming the post of Director of the Non-Traditional Threats Department from 2010 to 2012. Another limelight to his career was when he appointed as Commanding Officer of KD TERENGGANU and subsequently become Project Manager for RMN Training Vessels Projects built with collaboration with Korean Shipbuilding DSME.
Rear Admiral Badarudin has attended various courses, locally and abroad. He attended the Long Navigation and Direction Course at PNS BAHADUR, Pakistan in 1996 and earned him a specialization in Marine Navigation. Subsequently he was sent to Italy for Corvette Italy Fourth Batch Course in La Spezia, Italy. In 2007, he graduated from Wollongong University Australia and passed with a Master (Distinction) in Maritime Policy. He is also an alumni to MAFDC Cohort 2014 where he earned a Master in Defence and Strategic Study with Distinction by University Kebangsaan Malaysia. In 2021, he was one of the Course Member for National Resilience College, PUSPAHANAS and awarded Fellow Scholar by National Defence University, Malaysia.
He is happily married to Puan Noriah binti Sahlan and blessed with three children, one son and two daughters.
In his free time, he enjoys golfing and reading. He also has a high interests in Geopolitics, Leadership, Change Management, and Force Development.

Rear Admiral Azizi bin Hj Ahmad Sarkawi was born in Selama, Perak on 17th Mei 1970. He joined the Royal Malaysian Navy and was commissioned on the 2nd Jun 1993.
At the beginning of his service, he was held various positions as Branch Administrative Officer at the first KD PELANDOK in 1995, Coordination Officer of Officer Faculty, administrative & procurement Control Officer at the Fleet Supply Depot, Logistics Officer cum Acting Executive Officer at the RMN maintenance supervision Unit Sg Nyior, Butterworth. Among the important positions at the Naval Headquarters that he held were as Staff Officer 2 Deployment and Exchange (supply), Staff Officer 2 Policy/Documentation while in the Materiel Division as Director of Materiel Development, Director of Budget Management and Senior Director of Materiel.
Subsequently, he was employed at the RMN Leadership Centre as head of the School of basic Leadership Studies, Chief of Staff for Systems Management at the Fleet Systems headquarters, Head of the Materiel and Finance Department at the Submarine Force Headquarters, Head of the Supply Division at KDSI 1, Head of the Faculty of Supply and Management at KD PELANDOK and Commanding Officer of the Fleet Supply Depot. At the level of ATM headquarters, he has held the position of Staff Officer 2 Plan A 5 CTK-A. On Jan 30, 2023, he was appointed as the Eastern Logistics Commander.
Rear Admiral Dr. Azizi has attended various courses in logistics, military, management and higher education, locally and abroad. The highest academic achievement is in PhD In Technology, Operation and Logistic Management at the Northern University of Malaysia (UUM). He has passed the Viva Voce held on 2 Jan 24 and has been granted the doctorate credential from the University Senate on 14 July 24. He is a member of Chatered Malaysia Institute of Logistics and Transport and American Society of Quality. In 2022, he was one of the Course Member for National Resilience College, PUSPAHANAS and awarded Fellow Scholar by National Defence University, Malaysia.
He is happily married to Madam Anita binti Mohamed, and blessed with five children, two sons and three daughters.

First Admiral Dato’ Roslee bin Mohamad Isa was born on August 8, 1967, in Bukit Merah, Perak. He joined the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) on September 4, 1985, and underwent the intake 34th Cadet Officer Training at the RMN Cadet Officer School, KD PELANDOK. He was commissioned as an officer on January 16, 1988. He holds a Master of Science in Policing from the National University of Malaysia (2011) and an Advanced Diploma in Strategic Studies from University of Malaya (2005).
Throughout his nearly 40-year service, First Admiral Dato’ Roslee has attended various professional courses, including the Commanding Officer Course, the Junior Officer Warfare Course at KD PELANDOK, the Staff Course at the Malaysian Armed Forces Staff College, and the United Nations Military Observer Course at the Malaysian Peacekeeping Training Centre, Port Dickson.
During his service in the RMN, he has held several key positions at sea, including Navigation Officer, Weapons Officer, and Executive Officer on board KD BAUNG, Executive Officer of KD PARI, Commanding Officer of KD TOMBAK (concurrently Senior Officer of the 14th Patrol Vessel Squadron), and Commanding Officer of KD MAHAWANGSA (concurrently as a Senior Officer Afloat). In addition to his sea duties, he has been entrusted with several important positions on land, including Assistant Provost Marshal of the Labuan Naval Provost, Assistant Provost Marshal of the Lumut Naval Provost, Chief of Staff at the 3rd Naval Region Headquarters, Chief of Staff at the RMN Support Command Headquarters in Lumut, Commanding Officer of KD MALAYA, Base Commander of the Lumut Naval Base Headquarters, Director of Operations at the Malaysian Armed Forces Provost Marshal Branch, Director of Maritime Security Affairs at the Malaysian Institute of Defence and Security (MiDAS), and as the Naval Provost Marshal at the Royal Malaysian Navy Headquarters.
He was later appointed as the Commander of the 3rd Naval Region on June 20, 2023, before assuming his current position on February 20, 2025.
First Admiral Dato’ Roslee enjoys spending his free time engaging in various sports activities. He is an avid shooting sports enthusiast and serves as the Chairman of the Malaysian Armed Forces Shooting Association.
He is married to Datin Noraisha Azura binti Norzan, and they have been blessed with six children.
