SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF AMMUNITION AND EXPLOSIVE DISPOSAL TRAINING CLASS II AMMO TECH COURSE – SPPAP



The Ammunition and Explosive Disposal Training for the Class II Ammo Tech Course was successfully held at Teluk Siagin, Perak from 9 to 13 June 2025. This essential training involved 25 trainees, focusing on the safe and effective handling and disposal of explosive ordnance.

The program began with ammunition offloading at WNAED and a coordinated move to the disposal site under PROTELA and PDRM escort. Trainees received safety briefings before commencing both theoretical and practical modules, including the disposal of small arms ammunition and pyrotechnics.

Across five disposal phases (First to Fifth Blow), trainees took turns planning and executing operations under the supervision of Lt Cdr Mohammad Safwan bin Rusdin RMN, Range Safety Officers (RSOs). Evening sessions featured briefings and presentations to reinforce learning and safety awareness.

The training concluded on 12 June with the successful Fifth Blow, followed by a Closing Ceremony officiated by Captain Ahmad Rashidi bin Othman RMN, Commanding Officer of KD PELANDOK. Also in attendance were the CO of WNAED, Head of Seaman Faculty, and Head of Supply and Management Faculty.

Cleanup and final clearance were conducted before returning to Lumut Naval Base on 13 June.

This training enhanced the technical skills, confidence, and readiness of all 25 trainees, preparing them for real-world operational duties in the Fleet.
